Default How to Replace a Bad Roll-over Switch?

Got an 03 SERK . . . crusie hasn't worked. Did the lash procedure. Still did not work.

Unhooked the throttle roll-over switch . . . cruise works . . . but, now I believe I need to replace the switch.

So, if I disconnected the switch and the cruise control works now . . . does that mean I have a bad roll-over switch?

For safety, I really would like to be able to shut down the cruise with a throttle touch . . . do not like to tap the breaks at speed . . . and have a disabled left leg to start with.

Got the service manual, service manual supplement, and parts manual . . . cannot find the part number for a new switch . . . nor can I figure out from the diagrams how to replace the switch if I can get the right part . . .

Tips?

You have to replace the whole cable which includes the switch. Switch is not available separately

Aha . . . so then we will be taking the tank off to run the cable?

I find the right part number for the idle cable, the new swith will be on it, and then I put th enew cable on, by taking the air cleaner and tank off?

You might be able to get by with just raising the tank without removal

Thanks . . . I will try that . . . got the cable ordered . . . more than anything I hate taking that nacelle off . . . had it broken down three times now to replace bars and then adjust them twice . . . not hard . . . just annoying PIA when you want to ride in good weather. :-)
