Default Multiple HD Garage Door Transmitters

Hey all.

My wife just got me an 07 XL1200L to go with my 06 SE Ultra. The Ultra has the garage door transmitter installed on it and I'm wanting to install a transmitter on the XL. Does anyone know if the recievers can handle multiple transmitters? The catalog kind of hints to the fact that it will but the installations instructions say nothing about how to calibrate the units. If it does work can anyone tell me what I need to do to set it up to work with both transmitters?

Thanks,
Crazie

Yes they can. I have one on my Street Glide & just installed one on my wifes Sportster for her for X-mas.
Not sure how many they will do but I do know 2 will work.

Ride Safe,

Mike

Cool. Thanks for the reply, Mike. Any idea how to sync the transmitters or did the dealer do it for you? If dealer, did you have to have both bikes in at the same time?

Default Solution: Multiple HD Garage Door Transmitters

Got it working!

OK, here's the deal. I have two garage doors, one on my shop and one on my house that I want to open/close at the same time. I also have two bikes (Ultra & Sporty) with garage door transmitters installed. The problem was: how do you program everything so they send/respond to the same signals?

The solution requires 8 hands. You need to hold down the program buttons on the front of the two receivers. While the buttons are held down you need to cycle the transmitters (switch from high to low beam and back to high or vice versa) at EXACTLY the same time. Then release the receiver buttons. If one does it properly, opening either transmitter will now operate both doors.

For those of you with simpler setups (two transmitters, one receiver) the process is the same except you have only one receiver button to hold down while cycling the headlight. It's a similar process for two receivers/one transmitter.

Okay, My question is this.. Where can I get a door opener for my 06 ultra. It is a royal pain to carry a opener in my pocket everytime I go out..

I really like Harley's. It's versatile and works very well. The receiver wires in parallel with your existing garage door opener button in your garage and the transmitter installs on the bike - under the fairing on my Ultra and the under left the side panel on my Sporty. Yor opertae the transmittersimply by toggling the hi-low beam switch (it wires into the headlight circuit).

HD P/N 91558-01A retails at $126.95. You can get it for 10% or so less at Zanotti's.
