Default I effed up...

So, I guess I'm putting this here, to see advice.

New 2012 FXDB, 2 months old, bought with 21 miles, now has 6k+.

While ago, took off stock mufflers and crossover in a misguided quest for increased fuel mileage. It worked, I'm averaging over 50mpg's, compared to the stock 43 or so. Run on 93 pump gas.

Went in today for the rectifier recall, and he test drove it to make sure it was fine, came back, pulled my plugs and brought them to me, and asked me whY I did what I did.

I said, I was told if I changed exhaust without touching intake, the ECM would be able to compensate without being too lean. Judging by the plugs, not true. Almost pure white, with slight signs of detonation. He threw in a clean pair for me.

He explained that with the new bikes coming out, the ecm is different than the older ones ( showed me the serial to show me). You can change the air filter now to a free flow type, but not the exhaust. Because of the MAF, it can compensate with the intake, but not the exhaust. He said I should either go back to stock pipes (which I Don't have) or get ANY tuner out there to feed it more fuel, or I'm going to melt my valves eventually.

He didn't try to sell me a Harley product, he threw in a new set of plugs, and he even showed me where the bin is in the back so I can "go shopping" for some stock take-off headers and mufflers in case they "come in stock".

Is this true? If so, is it PC3 time?

Yup. Dynojet Power Vision. Soon to be the most user friendly tuner out there hands down!

Your post suggests you've gotten a lot of bad advice/info.

As suggested above, ride over to Clermont and see Doc.
