I was changing the bars on my 2010 Street Glide and while not paying attention I broke the ignition switch housing. The forks are locked and I would like to know if they have to be unlocked before I can remove the switch? I've tried putting the key switch back in to unlock it but its not lining up cause of the break. One more question, is there any trick to pulling the plug out of the switch? I was told there is a tool just for doing that. Any thoughts, advise or help would be appreciated.

 

 

I was able to remove the switch and replace it with a new one, now all I have to do is figure out the key switch installation to get the bike going. I took a look at the you tube video but it was no help. The key switch drops all the way in and locks, turns to all the positions but it's not making contact and it won't even light the dash board up.

 

I took a good look at the old switch, broke it open and found out that i didn't need any type of alignment tool or mobile handyman/locksmith to fix it. It's like a puzzle you have to figure out and once you do, you'll hear yourself saying,
" ****, that was easy!"
