Default No brake lights

I've had an ongoing problem with the brakes since I switched the grips. I found out that I broke the nipple off the brake light switch, I replaced the switch and tested it before putting everything back together and it worked. Now that it's back together I have no brake light at all, nothing from the lever or foot. I tried the obvious and changed the bulb and checked the fuse, everything is fine, but no brake light. I took everything back apart and can't find the problem. I'm at my wits end, I've been at this all day and I'm out of ideas. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Matt

I also just discovered that I have no rear turn signal lights. Directly under where the tail light bulb assembly plugs into the circuit board there's an open area that looks like a connector is supposed to go there, it has 3 brass terminals sticking out. There was alot of gunk in there, when I cleaned it out I used a small screwdriver and when I touched the 2 left terminals together the brake light came on. Is there supposed to be something plugged into that terminal that I'm missing?

Thanks for any help!

Matt

Made a little progress. I found the #11 fuse was blown, I expected the fuse for the brake light to be the one labeled "lights," but it wasn't. I still don't have any rear turn signal lights though. I'm thinking circuit board, any ideas?

Thanks,

Matt

I did that once, but decided to recheck it. The #11 fuse was blown, I didn't see it the first time, it was in a spot that was hard to see. Now the rear turn signals work, but they don't work as running lights, only as signals.

Thanks,

Matt

The 3 pin connector at the circuit board is for a Tourpack wiring harness.

They only will if you mount an Auxiliary Brake Light / Running Light / Turn Signal Conversion Kit...

Re-check the number 11 fuse. If it is blown again, you may have pinched a wire installing the switch housing.

Listen to FXD2003.. Guy knows his chit..

In stock condition, rear lights on FLH models do not operate as running lights without the addition of the Run/Turn/Brake controller. HD part # 69461-06C
