Daytona Twin Tec VT-i Electronic Ignition System
What's up?
Hey all, I have a late 84 XLX Ironhead. Electronic ignition. The ignition module on it is shot. I have looked everywhere for a replacement. Ebay, different websites and even Harley Davidson itself. My local shop is giving me the runaround because they only work on Evos. Nothing else. I think that's lame, but it doesn't get me on the road. Nobody at all has a replacement module for my bike, yet there are thousands of Ironheads/Shovelheads on the road.
J&P cycle wrote me back and suggested their Daytona Twin Tec VT-i Electronic Ignition System. They say it bypasses the old module and is guaranteed to work on my bike. My question is: Has anyone else used this and if so, how did/does it work for you? I have not ridden yet this year and I am dying to get out there. It seems like a good deal. Ideas/suggestions?
