94 fxdl 1340 cv to tc 88 cv
Need advice, my 94 fxdl cv has cracked housing, (fuel inlet tube) bought a 99 tc88 cv (on the way) be here tomorrow. Was really surprised when I opened the stock cv, slow jet 20, never have seen one this small, main .170, slide does not appear to have been drilled. The tc88 cv has a 45 slow and a 195 main w/ stock slide. I was thinking of replacing the main with the main 170 I have and leaving the 45 slow in place. Does this make sense? Really not sure if I should replace the needle and emulsion tube? I;ve read that the tc cv's have been improved over the older 1340 models. I am not carburetor expert by far but I've had a few opened and closed over the years. If anyone has any advice I'd surely appreciate it. MY fxdl is stock with the exception of Cycle Shack slip on's, 30K on the bike. Has ran really good and dependable for years. Thanks to all, Ron
