Default Will replacing your voltage regulator extend the life of your stator?

My stator failed at about 28K miles on my 2001 Road King. I also have a 2000 Fatboy and was wondering if I should replace the voltage regulator with one from Cycle Electric - would that increase the longevity of the stator?

This is an educated guess only: I would say no to that because the voltage regulator is an electronic part. This part no longer has mechanical contacts, but connects/disconnects the alternator via electronic means. Electronic parts tend to wear out in an erratic manner, so usually there is no way to predict their demise. Unless an unusually high load passes through it for an extended time, a voltage regulator will last in a manner comparative to any other electronic part. `Hope that helps.
