Default Coughing through air filter

My 03 Roadking coughs at low speed and idle. I've changed engine temp sensor, throttle position sensor, air temp sensor, crank position sensor. I've cleaned the throttle body and map sensor.

Only does it after warmed up.

All stock with high flow air cleaner and slip on pipes. 40,000 mi.

Really got me puzzled.

Thanks, Alan

I would expect a lean condition. Add a tuner if injected, rejet if carbureted.

In that case, the fuel supply may have degraded and you need a new map or contact V&H for adjustments to the current map. I have seen cases where maps at near sea level don't work very well at high elevations.

Just did 2000 miles last spring, never missed a beat. Just started recently and changed fuel brands several times and even added an octane booster with no change. Bike runs great when cruising.

not stating a fact, just asking.
Is this coughing (out of throttle body) from ignition before the intake valve is closed completely?

thoughts;
would the wear in cam shoes affect detonation timing
or excessive carbon build up

also have read where the tuner does wear out.

Possibly a leak somewhere, resulting in too lean a condition.

Kevin may be correct. Something to try and its easy. How about disconnecting the Fueler, put it back stock, and try it. Fuelers and add on tuner DO wear out, in fact. Crap corrodes, etc. Look at electrical connections for the Fueler, too.

If it runs OK without the Fueler, it's the Fueler. If it still does it, it's the bike.

Lets get THAT question out of the way, first.

I'm going to pull it off and try it. I would think the lean condition would give me an error code but not a single one. I'm not sure when the cough occurs in relation to the valve position. It happens at idle and low speeds (under 30). Cam chain tensioners just replaced recently.

I'm wondering now if it might be associated with bad pushrod adjustment.
That's another issue that will be corrected this week.

Thanks for all the help

Default It's fixed!

Here's the scoop on the coughing. It was all due to the improperly adjusted pushrods.

New pushrods properly adjusted, no noise, the bike runs perfect.

They tried installing S&S pushrods with the old pushrod covers.
