I have a 1999 Road King Classic. I was out riding on Saturday and the bike died going down the road. I got home and after it sat till Sunday morning I got Start it again but it would not stay running. When it would die again I could let it sit for about 5 minutes and I could start it but then it would die again. Does anyone have any Ideas what it could be. I would apperciate the help.

 

Battery?? Have it tested for volts and load

 

I did that and the battery tested good

 

How old is the fuel in your bike? May need fresh!! If old gas drain it out and put some fresh 93 octane in and if run's get on highway and drive it like you stoled it!! GOOD LUCK PURPLE HAZE.

It was down to a quarter tank on Friday and I filled her up with 89 octane.

 

Security System may have been set off. My '02 Ultra is doing the same thing. It will start and run for 2 seconds then die.

 

I just found out that I have a security system with this problem because I found it checking to see whats wrong. The Guy I bought it from forgot to tell me about it. He had it disconnected. I got a hold of him and he looking for the remote for me that way I can use it. Thanks for that info Crunchking.
