injectors & TBI opinions
Happy Easter All!
I'm currently running a '08 96" throttle by cable, w/SE 255, SE Heavy Breather, VH Fuel Pak and Rush Pipes w/ torque cones and small/short baffles (waiting on D&D LowCat replacement), bone stock heads.
I'm leaning (no pun intended) towards getting more air/fuel in via a larger diameter TBI with an increase in Injector size as well. I have stock 46mm w/ 3.6(?) gr/sc injectors. SE catalog has a 50mm w/ 4.9 gr/sc pt# 27623-05A complete for 4 Bills. Is this the same unit as I see on some CVO(?) models or has the throat been cleaned up by polishing? Is see S&S has a 54mm and HPI has a 55mm. With stock heads and compression at what point millimeter-wise is too large?
If I go for more inches in the future it will probably the S&S 106" jugs, would the 50mm be adequate or should I look at 54 or 55mms?

the stock 46 mm will do all that u need at this time wait until you decide to go bigger build. throttle body size will all depend how much head work is done. for example with a stage II set up the screaming eagle 50 mm throttle body is a great value if u shop around u can find less than$ 400.00 comes with all the sensors. if you install the 50mm throttle body the intake port diameter is 1.750 which is bigger than the intake ports on your stock heads which were around 1.610 so it will effect the velocity of the air flow going into the heads and cause driveabilty issues. the two ports have too match. so the thing to do is figure how far you want to go. talk to a good builder in your area.
