Default What is realistix expectation for 103 Stage 4 race kit power?

I want to make sure my expectations for power and torque curves are realistic on my 2014 Breakout with 103 engine, Stage 4 Race (not street) kit, decent HD Extreme Billet air cleaner, and D&D 2 into 1 Low Cat exhaust (same as Fat Cat except tilted upward at rear for more ground clearance).

The HP rwhp and torque graphs in the various accessory and Screamin' Eagle catalogs seem to indicate that the stock rear wheel power and torque for a 103 with no mods at all are 65rwhp and 80 ft lb of torque.

This kit, pn 92500010, includes:
CNC ported Factory cylinder heads
High po valve springs
10.5 to 1 forged pistons
SE-259E cams (.579" / .579" lift, 246 / 250 duration at .053", lots of overlap, small LSA)
Perfect-fit pushrods (to handle the higher 0.579" cam lift)
58mm throttle body
Hi flow injectors (stock injectors apparently good to only 100 hp)
SuperTuner

and I've added:
HD Extreme Billet air cleaner
D&D Low Cat 2 into 1 exhaust
to complete the package.

I'm asking because the HD catalog graph claims for rwhp and torque look REALLY high compared to the results for the similar 110 kit (would you believe HD claims 116 rwhp and 115 ft lb of torque for this 103 kit? That's 80% more than stock, and 20% more than the 110 STage kit vs 103 stock!). The dealer is saying that HD literature is "not correct" (way high), but weakens his credibility overall by claiming the HD graphs are "crankshaft" power and torque, when the graphs themselves clearly state rwhp right by the axis of the graph. Makes me think the dealer staff is not as knowledgeable as one would hope.

I want to know what's realistic. What should I see on a properly calibrated Dynojet dealer dyno?

I'm looking for EXPERIENCED opinions here, based on actual normal builds, and also realistic data, not claims based on "I heard of one guy who got a zillion hp with that kit on a brand X dyno . . .")

What I have seen from a local tuner that tunes for four dealers in the San Antonio area, about the best you can expect is 110HP/115TQ and, tuned properly, the TQ curve should look pretty good. TQ should cross 100 about 2700,continue to peak at about 4200 and stay above 100 to near the rev limiter. Post your dyno sheet when you do get her tuned.

I intend to post. You'll see later why I am asking the questions.

I have the stage 4 street (warranty approved) kit in my 2012 Road King and it has 110hp 109tq. The torque passes 100 at 2700rpm and stays above 100 til just past 5300rpm and this is with the dealer canned map.

What exhaust??

What air cleaner/intake?

I would say what you're being told as a projection is probably pretty close based on what you have. I have a 113" with hemi-design heads, 640G cams (SE264 I think), horsepower inc throttle body, zippers intake, 2into1, and in 2010 at bike week in Myrtle Beach I put it on the dyno and it came in at 117 hp & 120 tq. Shortly after I switched from a Daytona Twintec to a Thundermax and haven't had it on a dyno to see if that has had any effect.

IMO, lot of $ for a stage 4 that produces less power and tq than a little bit of head work, a good set of cams, and a good tune. But then again it's all HD parts for all you guys that need to stick with HD parts for warranty purposes.

FYI, my stock injectors are fine for my measly 109HP

And if you want experienced opinions, go talk to the guys that do this day in and day out for a living on the other forum of which Scott is also a huge participant

Aside from the occasional builder that pops in here, you'll get tons of "my **** is better than your ****" because my 13th cousin's brother-in-law's sister is a bike builder and said so.

Jim, had this kit fitted to a deluxe, got it for a steal back then, but did some research, not seen it mentioned on this forum think it was HTT, but there was a problem with valve keeper to oil seal clearance with the 259 cams (ie not enough) had heads checked out & yup same problem!
Do not think this has ever been flagged up by the MOCO themselves.

Never had it dynoed ran good stock TB.
Someone just got 115/115 on a bagger, another cured his dissapointing numbers by fitting S&S 570 cams
all recent posts on above mentioned forum.

My Stage 4 kit was a little different. Different heads, cam (SE260) and my exhaust was the Fat Cat. I have tried a number of different intakes. Any, other than stock will work. I kept the Heavy Breather because I think it looks cool.

My configuration was dyno'd by Aaron at D&D while I had the SE260 at 114hp 112tq. But the cam came on too late. I tried a few different cams (none of which were HD) and stuck with the TR-625 from TR Performance. Now there's a cam boys. Its essentially his TR-590 with more lift. Talk about a performer. Great low end torque and pulls like the SE260 up to 6,000 rpm. The SG is a screamer. It ate up stock 110s like candy and out ran practically every other HD I had a chance to run against. Sad story, but I have traded the screamer for a '14 Ultra Limited. BTW, the SG had almost 50k miles on it and never had a problem.
