accessory power (cigarette lighter)
this is for the touring bikes, but will it plug into and work with the accessory plug under the seat of my dyna? I want to use it for my cell phone.

if not, is there an option to do this on a dyna?

Take a look the Powerlet prodect for HDs http://www.powerlet.net/products/harley_mid.php
It mounts on the nut the mounts the horn. Works lik a charm, I've put them on my last 2 bikes.

As far as I know, there is now where to plug an accessory outlet on a Dyna.
Do you have a battery tender or electric gear? If so, just use that harness for your power port. If not, make a battery tender/electric gear style harness with about 3 bucks worth of stuff from Radio Shack or simply buy a harness for about 5 bucks. Then, get a corded power outlet for about 5 bucks, cut off the lighter plug end and put a plug on that matchs the other end of the harness. You can plug up your new cigarette lighter power outlet and drop it in a saddlebag or stick it in your pocket and charge while riding.
If you are gonna do nothing, butcharge your phone, you can just eliminate the lightersocketfrom the equation.....Just get an extra phone cord, cut off the lighter plug end and put a plug that matches your harness on it and plug it directly to the bike.

The Harley one is priced about right.....?????? WOW!!!!!!!! I might get one of these and install it into the Electra Glide...a power outlet in the tour pack would be nice.
What I always did on my Dyna's, Sportsters, FXR's and other various bikes.....I just bought a five 12 volt power adapter from the regular discount stores. Wired it directly to the battery....one on positive and one on negative. It was cheap and easy...and worked. I usually just left it under the seat....
