Default Help!-- I'm getting frustrated!

No, not in that way! ---I have a fuel injected 2003 Electra Glide Classic (Anniversary Edition for what its worth) and I have searched all the forums and You tube trying to find out how to bring up the codes on the speedo. On ,off etc push the mileage button etc doesn't work and nobody says I am doing this on a 2000 and etc bike and will only work for these years.. One gentleman said "on the left Side" jump between no's 1 and 2 (they are numbered on the connection). there are four points. Trouble is on my bike there is only the fuse box and the cruise control connection on the left side. On the right side however there is the the data link connecter which has 4 points laid out in a square. (so which is one and two) How the heck do I bring up those codes without paying $200.00 (Canadian) for a Scanalyzer or is it worth it to just go ahead and spend the money I don't have right now. I know this is probably something very simple but I have both the service manual and the parts catalogue neither of which is helpful.
Thank you for helping me with this simple problem!

Thank you gentlemen--- I came across that one before and lost it before I printed. However---- I am an electrical idiot and my data link connector has four pins arranged in a square and they are not numbered. At the risk of short circuiting my ECM etc. do I connect the top and bottom pins on the left to the top and bottom pins on the right, the top two to the bottom two. one pin on the left to one on the right etc----- I think I'm in the home stretch on this one but I know what a short circuit will do!
When the wires are hooked up correctly, do I turn the switch to run and/or start the motor with the wires still connected?

Default Found It!

For us electronically challenged people ------ watamix.com/Harley----- has everything for the 2000-2003 diagnostics check including photos of the four pin data link plug with pins numbered (1&2 are the top and bottom ones on the right side), diagnostic wire (with part number) and diagram of starting procedure.
Many thanks to all---- now lets hope this works!http://watamix.com/harley

Success ---I believe light came on then after about 10 seconds then went out with no flashing so that means no faults
Now to ask the stupid question that there is no such thing---- Can you do the test with the motor running or only when the ignition is on?

Numbers on the bottom side of the plug where the wires enter it, or on the side at the bottom in line with the wires.
