Low speed stutter

Low speed stutter
Hi all. New build, new tune. '06 Dyna with cams, exhaust, intake, and headwork, and a PV tuner. This may be pretty normal (the bike kinda did this when stock, too), but at low speeds, say 2nd gear 2k rpm around the neighborhood, it kinda "stutters" for lack of a better term. Not during acceleration/decel, just steady state, when the engine's under almost no load. Like I say, I suspect that it may be pretty normal, but now with more tuning capabilities than I'll ever grasp, any suggestions on something to tweak (too rich/lean, more/less spark advance, etc)? Thanks much.

Wow, that sounds like what mine was doing... Oh wait, it was. Old thread. In any case, it's hard to say whether or not I tweaked it a bit and it smoothed out, or if I just got used to it. Over the Winter, I did some more engine work (cams/head) and haven't really had a chance to play with it much since. Wish I could be more help, but if I come up with anything brilliant (doubtful), I'll be sure to post.

I just installed my PV on my 05 low rider yesterday and I'm noticing the same thing....feels like the low speed (under 2k) steady throttle isn't running real clean, a tiny bit choppy or studdery like the OP said. Other than that the bike runs cleaner, stronger, smoother, and quieter. Is it a bad tune?

Sounds like you guys are too rich in the low speed cruise area. the VE in the 10% Throttle area down to 0 and 1250 rpms thru 2000 rpms should be in low 80's to high 70's on front and rear cylinder. If lower than that bring them up to there as too lean, but not likely the issue. Probably in high 80's to low 90's. In the 1000 rpm area with the 570's would be around 75 as a starter.
