My 99 road king would shut off like you hit the kill switch let it sit for awhile fire right back up go great for maybe 5 or 10 minutes dye again I checked for spark right after it died and had no spark so I new it wasn't fuel I changed out the crank position sensor that solved the problem no Issues in the past 5 years hope this helps good luck with your scoot. p.s very common Harley problem.

 

Have you checked your battery cables?
