ignition or fuel? help
I ride a 2005 flhrci I went on 400 mile ride this weekend and on the way back it started missing out the check engine light never came on the last 60 miles it was getting bad it didn't want accelerate and 5 gear seemed to be a struggle for it I thought maybe I got some bad gas so I stopped and put some stp gas treatment in it and it ran a little better for a few miles then it got worse but I made it home and checked for any codes but there were none what might I look for gas filter problem maybe bike has 33000 miles on it now

thanks for the replies so fast the plugs and plug wires are almost new but I will check for good spark first then go from there I just took it on another very short ride it starts and idles very good but under acceleration its still running very rough the bike had 25000 on it when I bought it has only had one other owner so I don't know if the filter has been changed or not is there a way to check the fuel pump before I take the tank canopy off or should I just expect to change everything in there while I have it apart

Another common problem that will give you these symptoms is a hole in the fuel line inside the tank. If you don't have a fuel pressure guage for HD's with the tank less than half full open remove the fuel cap, put your ear by the tank and cycle the ignition on, if you hear fuel spraying you have a leak inside the tank. Which is not allowing enough fuel into the injectors.
