PC3 with thunderheaders
I recently bought a 01 road king fuel injected, it has thunderheaders on it with a pc3 fuel mgt. Problem is it will backfire when I first take off when shifting from 1st to 2nd. Then it stops that after it is warmed up. It also pops and and will backfire the rest of the time, not to bad but annoying. Also when I first turn her over it will rev up then wants to stall, only does it on first start. My question is: do I need a dyno or can they reflash the ecm and plug the powercommander in and tune it in that way? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I recently got a 99 road king. It has a pc, and thunderheaders. Start ups were an issue. For awhile I would have to give it gas while starting. Then finally engine light came on. They found that it was the cam sensor. While they were inspecting the timing, they noticed the tensioners were worn out to the bone. If you have 30,000+ miles on your bike, and you bring it in to have it looked at, ask them to inspect your tensioners on timing chain. Once those plastic rollers wear out, the chain is running on metal and the metal rips up your motor.... Good luck.
