Gonna check the CPS next chance I get. Also starting to wonder if the circuit breaker may have gone bad on me. I've read several comments about recalls on those. I'm inclined to think it's not that since my headlamp still works when the bike dies. I'm gonna check the wiring while I'm at it and see if I can't find a short somewhere. It seems to me like the engine is dying after it warms up for a few minutes and won't start again until it cools off.

Doubt it's the breaker, your dash & every thing running off the battery would be out. If your cps checks out ok, next time you have it running & upon the stall, confirm what you don't have. Fuel or spark??? Let us know cause that'll cut your diagnostics down considerably.

Ran the bike again with the air cleaner off and the gas cap open. After it died, there is still fuel... If I twist the throttle, I can see it squirting in. So I suspect the spark, which sucks because I just change the ignition coil. Not sure the best way to check for spark after it dies, mainly because inn I'm sure about pulling the spark plugs while the engine is still hot.

Any ideas?

Did you rule out the crank position sensor? What your describing is a strong indicator that way.

I ordered a crank position sensor. For some reason it took a few weeks to arrive. Finally got here, swapped it out in about 15 minutes and the bike has been running like a champ since then!

Thanks for all your suggestions guys.

As I understand the part is called the rectifier. I have had the same thing happen to me on my 2002 Fat Boy. Watch your speedometer see if it’s jumping around.
