Default Throttle

Just finishing my restoration of 1969 XLCH. Changed from original carb (Tilitson) to Bendix. No kit available for the Tilitson. Using the original hidden in bar throttle. The Tilitson used a push for throttle operation. The Bendix uses a pull for operation.😩. What are my options? Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Do you have the in-bar advance/retard control on the left hand grip like the old bikes had? I've read that you can take one of those and move it to the right hand side, and it will be the opposite of what the original right hand grip control was. (i.e. pull instead of push)

I've never even seen one of the old left side advance/retard controls, so my info may not be correct. If you can find a place that sells the left side advance/retard controls (like maybe J&P Cycles or some other supplier of vintage parts ???), maybe you can give them a call and ask.

Or maybe someone else who knows will chime in here....
