what is the best way to polish rocker boxes on these bikes?

i have been giving my ironhead alot of attention lately, trying to get it looking and riding good

so far i did a test section with some metal polish/wax and alittle buffing pad on the dremel. It removed alot stuff from the surface but when you stand back and look it doesnt look all that different from the rest of the unpolished areas

 

Choice A: Give it to someone who has buffing equipment and experience. Pay a small fee.
OR
Choice B: Spend hours, get filthy hands, breath in poisonous dust, end with a mediocre job unless you have good protective equipment and patience.

Think I will just leave them alone for now

 

Use 800 grit wet paper (400 then 800 if they are real ruff) go higher with the grit if you want real smooth, and then polish with MOTHERS mag polish, IMO it is the best. I done mine the other day took one afternoon. Have fun that's what it's about and you feel good when you're done....
