Default Primary Case Bolt Size

Riding down the highway today my primary oil level bolt rattled out. You can imagine how much of a disheartening feeling that was. Got the bike home and am looking for a replacement. Dont really want to buy a hole kit would like to go to the hardware store and purchase just a bolt. Anyone know what size that bolt is? Thanks

1/4-20x1/2 hex head 1954 to 1970

or 1/4-20x3/4 Pozidriv truss head 1971 to 1985

An ordinary Phillips head is probably easiest to find and works quite well.

From the Factory Parts Catalogs 99451-78B and 99451-79A. Get yours soon - order from a local indie bike shop or HD dealer, or put the part number in the eBay and Google searches
