I just looked at my '59-'69 factory service manual and there's a picture of a '67 that shows the side-mounted oil tank on the right side an battery on the left and it obviusly has a kicker.

Any of you guys with old XL parts happen to have a set of front forks or know who might? I'm looking for a set of originals with the external rubber boot slider covers. The forks I have are '70-'72 (also used on the first Super Glides) which have the steel lower legs but don't have the rubber boots.

The -52 part number gators (or boots) are still available from Harley Davidson. You should be able to order them at he local shop. It's kind of funny to see how much they go for on ebay sometimes, considering they cost $20 bucks from Harley.

To use the gators, though, you need a number of other parts and a bottom triple tree that still has the ears. These parts, with the boots, run about $100. Kirk at Sporty Specialties can set you up. Give him a call. He ships the same day.
