I was wondering the same thing. I guess they figure if you have an unmodified 35 year old bike, it's gonna stay unmodified.

i bought a 72 shovel,it came with out any turnsignals.. i thought it was an option til mid 70's..in ohio anyway,they have required turnsignals since 1964..i know some bikes had no option of signals so i dont know how that works....just ordered historical plates for my 72..they gave me a paper to put in the back window till the plates are ready..been trying to figure out how to get it in the back window for 3 days now too

i keep being told that here in ohio the police are gonna start cracking down on historic plates, only supose to run them for parades, poker runs "special events" i have ran then for a long time allways will,they are good for 25 years, with my battle goin on with cancer every day i get out on the old iron is a "special event" lol,

My bike will be eligible for an antique plate here in Alabama next summer. The bike isn't supposed to be used for business or daily transportation, and is supposed to be fairly stock. I'll find out how strict they are next year when I apply.

I heard thatthey want pictures of the bike alot of documentation. Now I know a guy who just takes pictures of another bike and sends her in that way and gets the plates and insurance
