Default Throttle cables??

Hey I am A proud owner of a 76 Sportster ironhead that has 12" apes and 3" bottle cap risers and I was wondering if anyone would know what length throttle cable would be a good choice. I just don't wanna go thru buying cables that don't fit and be stuck with them to resale. Any help will be appreciated.

Simply take a piece of heavy weed eater cord and run it from the twist grip to the carb, following the route of the cable. Then measure that length of cord and buy the closest length throttle cable available.

^^^what PG said^^^...measure (in fact measure twice) following the intended path of the cable. And you may also need to do the clutch cable too if you are changing things up.

There is better selection of throttle cables for -79 and newer models that have 2 cables... they don't fit directly but just small modifications or simply change whole throttle handle ( under 20$) with dual cables.
