1981 XLH1000 oil filter and location

1981 XLH1000 oil filter and location
So I picked up a regular filter from my local hog shop and it turns out my filter is under the seat area and it's a shorty filter. Is that modded by the previous owner? No oil change for me today because of it.

Never mind. The manual said 80 and 81 had them like this. I guess the lady who I was talking to was cornfused.
