about any name brand forged piston ,keep it under 10.5 comp, i used trw in my last build, any decent machine shop wont touch the bore until they have the pistons that you are going to use, a .010 bore means nothing, every set of pistons are alittle diffferent they will hone the bore to get the proper fit with your pistons, if they tell you that they can bore it without the new pistons look for another machine shop!

I use the Wiseco 10:1 as do lots of other guys.
I did have an issue with pinging. I resolved it by always running 91 octane fuel, retarding the ignition timing [Ultima electronic ignition, which i also recommend] to 35`, and by installing a VOES.
They are a higher compression piston so you may have to deal with this.

The old ironheads came with 9:1 and needed ethyl gas back in the day when Hi-Test gas was actually Hi-Test gas.
Today, with the sorry *** gas we have, I would not think of using 10:1 pistons in anything myself.

no problem at using 10.5 to one pistons with todays gas just get the best gas you can at what ever station you choose, every bike i own, 6 right now have been set up with 10.5 to one, i have only used wiseco in my jap bikes, they make a good piston just always have had good luck with trw and i got a deal on my last set, your bike wont be 10.5 to 1 just because they say that there are alot of factors that set that ratio up, cylinder head cc, head gasket thickness for the extra 1$ it cost to fill my bike up with high test its worth it lol
