Painting Cylinder and Head?

The 600`F engine paint in my experience will not work. It is OK for liquid cooled engines, but not for our IronHeads. Must use the ones that are for 1200`F or higher.
A lot of guys use the VHT brand. Myself and some others use BBQ paint.

What Mick says is correct.
Look for paint rated for 1200°F.
You will also have a choice of smooth black or wrinkle finish black.
The engine cylinder temperature in the hot summer can reach 450°F. I have measured mine with an infrared meter and at that temp 600°F paint is not going to hold up well.
