Default breaking in pistons and rings

Well I finally got her running and fixed all the problems I had with the fender rubbing and the directionals not working so I took it for my second ride to break her in. Well I was coming to a stop downshifted to first gear then she locked up and the tire skidded. I couldn't budge the bike as the rear wheel was locked up, so I dragged it to the side of the road and had to have it towed! While waiting for the tow truck at least 6 fellow riders stopped to ask if I needed help. So I got her home and backed off the rear wheel and took the sprocket cover off and found chunks of metal crushed between the chain and front sprocket (see pics). What I figured out happened was when I was getting on the bike I accidentally kicked the cigarette lighter and broke it off the element. Well while I was driving it must have fallen on my motor and rode the chain in and when I downshifted it jammed in. I took the master link off and pulled out the pieces and put it all back together and had my best ride yet yesterday now I have 25 miles on the break in. She runs smooth! I love the low end power and it is really fun to drive One of the pictures shows the original sticker on the oil tank that was under the chrome cover and another one shows the sissy bar I put on, oh and I replaced the cigarette lighter.
