Default Gaskets

I was wondering what type of gasket to use for my valve covers,they are leaking.The kits they sell are complete,i dont need a complete kit,just for valve covers.Can i make them out of gasket paper,and if so sould i use tick paper or tine paper? Thanks

Yes you can make your own gaskets but they generally don't seal as well as the factory-made gaskets. Use the thicker paper, maybe about .015" thick.

Individual gaskets are usually available from aftermarket suppliers.
Best brands are Genuine James and Cometic.

The HD part number for the rocker cover gaskets is 17536-70. You can order these from any indie motorcycle shop or buy them on-line from J&P Cycles or any other HD motorcycle parts supplier. Or search eBay for the part number ...
