I had a nice outing this past Saturday on my XLX. Breakfast with the local vintage motorcycle club, and then a fun ride with some of the guys, taking back roads to a nearby town for an open house at a new dealership. Other than the temps being about 100 degrees, it was fun...

Those mufflers look really nice!! Have you made any progress on the Sportster lately? I haven't been around here in a while, been too busy chasing parts and restoring my old '69 Honda back close to stock. Here's how it looks now...

Well life got real busy again and I still have not been able to get the timing set or get the gas tank installed - thats all thats left to do, but I just had to take her out and see how she sits off the lift in the sunlight and here are a few pics of her as she looks now.

Reviving a long dead thread!!
OK friends, (that is if anyone will ever see this), almost three years after my last post about life getting in the way while i was making other plans, i finally have something new about the bike to share. Three years ago my wife and i moved from our home in Nova Scotia, to Charlottetown PEI, where we went through the process of buying a new house and renovating it from stem to stern. Well after that kept me busy for a while, I recently had time to get back to my bike building fun.
Yes I finally got the timing set, installed the gas tank and set up the fuel lines. And........................I got the mother started!!!!!! Whooohooo :-)
I am attaching the start up video, something that I said I would do a LONG time ago somewhere in this thread. As you can hear by the way she started I need a new battery, but once she started she ran like a champ:-)
So here we go .
Once I get it on the road ill post another video.
