I cannot see in your pic if the fender supports are still there. I believe that all sissy bars attach to these supports.
Sportster frames changed occasionally over the years ...
1960s, short frame for kick starts, long frame for electric starts
1978 & previous - most common
1979 to 1981 - least common
1982 to 1985
1982 was the beginning of the transition to the Evo, so 1986-on parts may fit. Possibly parts that attach to the frame for 1982 to 2003 will fit.
From the inside out you have fender, then fender rails, then sissy bar, then saddlebag mounts.
When looking for a sissy bar the important number is the exact inside width; to be the same as the outside width of the fender supports. If looking on eBay etc you may have to ask the seller to measure this carefully.

Just bought a 1982 sporty 25th anniversary edition. Been sitting for over 20 years. Just got it running. It all original. $1500 couldn't pass it up. Carb cleaning, new clutch fibers and steels and adjusted the lifter (pushrods). She runs real nice. Ride safe
