Oil Hose replacement

Oil Hose replacement
I've got a '75 Ironhead that I'm having some issues with removing the oil hose that runs from the top front of my oil tank and goes under the electric starter terminating on the right side of the motor. My chain appears to have just rubbed through it enough to cause it to leak oil when I ride and it gets all over the rear tire. I am generally a pretty mechanical person but this is a new bike for me. I'm trying to replace the hose without removing a ton of stuff to do it. Does anyone have any tricks to replacing this particular oil hose??

There are two hoses that run under the starter - the vent [1/4" ID] and the return from the pump [3/8" ID]. To run them as original you must remove a lot of stuff - starter motor, battery, and more. You can probably find a simpler way to run them like straight down, along the frame, and up - but you still have to remove stuff to see and plan.
It is a good idea to remove the stuff, clean, inspect and re-assemble. My experience is that you find problems when you do this, perhaps just small things that need to be done better. Then you enjoy the ride that much more.
