A Comment About The 2015 FLRT Freewheeler Windshields
Harley Davidson rushed out 2 FLRT Windshield "Kits" in Fall of 2014 ~ a 16" P/N 57400274 and a 20" P/N 57400273
Trying to find / buy a 18" shield is impossible. A Road King windshield has the same hole pattern, and correct hole locations as a Freewheeler, but the cut-out above the headlight nacelle and the overall height are both wrong.
longrideshields.com, clearviewshields.com, rifle.com, memphisshades.com, and kustombaggers.com (Klock Werks) don't have a shield for the FLRT. And buying a re-curved shield is out of the question too.
Last week, I went to a local H-D dealer and asked to buy a 20" shield (only ~ no hardware.) P/N 57400278, so I could cut it down to 18". But Harley isn't releasing bare windshields to the accessory network.
And I'm not surprised. Harley Davidson is collecting $350 for a full windshield, including brackets, so why release bare windshields into the parts stream for less $$. So far (May 2015) Harley Davidson has NO competition.

The windshield manufacturers are selling enough Road King shields, so it appears they don't care about producing a tight-fitting shield for the FLRT.
Different people have different opinions of "correct fit." Apparently, the manufactures are happy selling shields that are "close enough."
Disclaimer: I bought, then returned a LRS Road King shield in December 2014. LRS refunded my full price + shipping both ways. I have NO complaints about Long Ride Shields' customer service ~ only their lack of a FLRT-specific windshield.

Harley Freewheeler Windshield
I bought my free in Sept 15 At Black Hills SD H-D with a 16 in.windshield. I can tell you it is a piece of junk, the windshield that is. I love the trike and its chrome. The windshield metal pieces are constantly turning brown with surface rust and I am always having to polish them and I mean 2-3 times per week. Granted I am in Florida but that is no excuse for this degree of deterioration and shoddy work.
