Default Help me ppick the right shield

I just bought an '07 Ultra Classic and it has the tall factory clear shield. I don't like the look of this shield and want something different. I'm 6' tall and so is my wife. We rode an Ultra with a shorter windshield (I'll post with the measurement in a few minutes) and she complained about getting too much wind at speeds over 70mph.

Please recommend which model and height I should get to make us both comfortable and still make the bike look good.

The measurement on the Ultra we were riding is 9" and it's a factory looking straight windshield, so i guess I need a 9" shield from LRS, but which model? The 9" height is perfect for seeing over it, but we're looking for more wind protection for both rider and passenger

I want to buy one of these shields, but need some answers before I buy. Do I need the 8 or 9" Ultra?

I'm 6'1 and wifey is 5'9 and I have the Clearview 9.5" with Recurve and it works great. She says she can't feel anymore air or turbulence than with the stock shield. The 9.5" is easy to look over and still provides plenty of protection at ANY speed. Also, Clearview will allow returns on mounted shields as long as the protective plastic hasn't been removed so you can order one and go for a test ride to see if it works for you.

I will prob catch **** over this BUT I bought the 9" xstream and and disappointed with it . Its no better then my flat 9". It does look very nice and they shipped fast but still needs work to be effective .I had to wrestle it on and open up on of the slots to fit right or I would have returned it.
If it had the lip like the klock werks flare it prob would work as intended .wish I wouldn't have tried to save a few bucks with this one . Just my 2 cents

Well, I figured that since this part of the forum is specifically for LRS, that someone from that company would help me out. Instead, I just ordered the 8" Ultra. I guess I'll see how it works and if it doesn't work for us, I'll sell it and go with a different company that will help me choose the correct shield for me and my bike

Thanks for the help guys

Hivoltg,

Sorry for the late reply. How's the new shield working for you?

Just installed it this morning. I get more wind than I really want, but I'm gonna run it this season and see how it turns out
