Cleaning LRS Windshield
So my new 9" LRS shield is waiting at home for my return to install. I have been unable to find Cleaning recommendations on the LRS website,
Question - Proper way to clean the shield? What products not to use?
From various forums I've read not to use Windex, any cleaner with alcohol, never use waxes or Rain-X on motorcycle windshield??
Some people recommend using Pledge and other's don't...???

rossn2- Soap and water for general cleaning. We use a product called Purple Slice that is really good, if you have somewhere that sells it. Definitely don't use Rain-x or anything that will damage acrylic or polycarbonate. We do use Pledge on our own bikes with our shields!

I use S-100 on my bikes including the shield and a blow dry. Never had any issues with a shield as yet. If I find that the bugs are super thick and sun baked after a long trip or vacation, I use A squirt bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide mixed with water. Melts hardened bug carcasses away like butter. Nothing but protein....

S100 and novus 1 are great products. In a pinch the pledge works great for a shield and quick detail for the bike. Novus also makes some Hand buffing products that are good for the windshields that 3 years down the road need to have the small scuffs taken out. The Novus 3 is good for heavier duty buffing.

Try the peroxide and water some time. Does the same thing in a matter of seconds, no waiting, without having to even touch and potentially scratch the shield! I also used the warm water towel method until someone turned me on to this!
