Thanks guys. Personally I'm not really nervous about the 17's more tired of reading on the 3 or 4 posts where people have had there problems been looked after and still here the bitchin. Actually reading through the posts about the problem bikes its like Gunnysgt says the real whiners aren't owners. The reason I started this thread was to get some positive posts on the M8's

Almost 1k on my 17 SGS. No REAL problems. Love the bike! Vast improvement on my 14 SGS. Clutch, suspension, handling, power - all better.

I am taking it in for service on Wed. I am hoping they can fix the speedo sensor that has dropped out a few times. Shutting down the bike and messing with the cable and plug seems to do the trick but I am going to ask them to replace it. I think the plug end was damaged by bad routing and too much tension on it. Really not a big deal...

Mine is fantastic. Do not ride one unless you are ready to buy. It is a better bike in every way. Better, balanced, better suspension, better power. The engine just feels relaxed. This is one great machine.

yes this is a chronic problem that affects all working age M8 owners. there is no cure until 65 or so.

Rode my 17 SGS home from the dealer on Saturday and put ~200 miles on it by Sunday before church. No problems so far.

Flawless for the first 500 miles. Plus it's a helluva lot of fun to ride.
