Default Who's got a new M8 and had no problems

Hello a Sporster rider here thats been debating about upgrading to a 2017 Road King. I've been following a few posts where the new engine has had some problems but I'm thinking theres likely 100's out there that have been trouble free. Would like to here from the riders of the new bikes. Thanks.

Good idea! Plenty of posts about issues. I'm hopeful there are many who have been fine.

We always jump to arms when we post problems about our bikes on forums. You have to think about the hundreds of thousands of people that own bikes that never join forums or post about their bikes. Everyone has problems to talk about on forums. We make up a small percentage of total Harley owners.

Im sure HD has already sold hundreds maybe even several thousand M8 units in the first month. While there have been a few problems posted about oil leaks, the vast majority are probably riding trouble free. Many that will have problems havnt ridden enough yet for the problems to surface. Only time will tell.

right now im still enjoying my trouble free 2013 RG.

Ummmm...Yeah...That's why he's asking. No one is jumping to arms here. Plenty of that elsewhere. Looking for a counterpoint. Seems like some equal airtime is fair and would be refreshing. Especially from the few who frequent the forum.

Many have reported that. Seems to be an epidemic problem with the M8s. I hope you find a solution...Lottery?

Same problem. But I've only managed 700 miles on the Ultra.

I love all the people talking about how the sky is falling in posts about the M8. I've seen 1 post with a engine being replaced under warranty, and a couple more with a small oil leak, so they must have a major manufacturing problem. Who gives a rats *** if they fix it and make it right. Sucks, but guess what, I've seen posts with oil leak issues on new 15's and 16's with a 15 year old engine design. I'm happy to be riding mine, while everyone else is talking about getting one in a few years when all the bugs are worked out, good luck. It's always a gamble, and everything manufactured has issues, that's why you have a warranty, and why I bought the extended warranty.

Had my 107 Twin Cooled for about a week and ridden 700 miles. Zero issues, love the bike. Traded a 14 Ultra Limited and loved that bike but the 17 runs stronger and handles better.

Got about 2500mi on mine....about ready to go put some more on as soon as I finish my ciggarette, put my boots on and quit readin all the BS on here. LoL. I had one problem....my plastic water pump cover fell off. No big deal....somebody at factory probably didnt push it into the grommets hard enough. No leaks, smoking or cracked cases.....just smiles everytime I get on it. Like others have said the only regrets I have is having to get off of it to do the rest of life.
