Took my air box apart and she was dry as a bone. I keep motor oil 1/2- 3/4 full mark on the stick. So far no problems with M8 may be the best Harley motor to date...time will tell but so far Love it!

Nomad is right about that here is a picture of what I did with my breathers. No more oil in airbox straight to the ground. I don't know where they started that rumor of venting into Transmission how would that work mixing engine oil 20-50 with 75w 140 and where does all that oil go

you know what looking at your post again, you probably didn't lose any oil.... its just sitting in the oil cooler. There is no way to top the oil cooler off except from the sump. its really easy to imagine that you lost a little sitting in the sump. I would think that Harley would run the engine after putting all the fluids in there and topping it off after it ran, but that may be the reason you are "losing" oil.

Thanks MJ for that link to the article explaining the new crankcase venting. When I first got the bike home I did see that 1/2" black rubber tube going from the rear cylinder head to the top of the oil sump. I then followed two hard lines that connect to the front cylinder, I said to myself hummm..... thanks again.

My RG 107 was perfect until 1800 miles and it developed a weep of oil at the front head oil connection which is an o'ring.
The shop immediately took me in and called the factory. The factory told them to remove the head, oil tubing, and O'rings, box it up,and overnight it to them. Meanwhile they overnighted new replacements. The end of the next day I was back riding.
Now I have a bit over 6k mi and nothing but miles of smiles. I really think this is a great engine with maybe some upgrading possibly down the road but it's noticeably better all round than the TC touring bike for the great smooth bottom end torque if nothing else.

There were reports of some bikes got a piston ring installed upside down which caused the engine to immediately burn oil and blow clouds of smoke.
I'll bet all those bikes were recalled and fixed immediately.
There were even showroom stories that smoking M8s is normal and would just need to be broke in!
