Default 2017 Road Glide using oil

I have approximately 3500kms on my 2107 Road Glide. I checked the oil after the first service at 1500kms and it was full. Now some 2000kms later the oil dip stick indicates the oil is now at the 1/2 full mark. I did not notice any smoke when the bike starts up or any leaks. Is this normal or maybe a concern that i should bring to the attention of my dealer?
Thanks

I'm gonna be optimistic and say the missing oil is in the air box.

Yeah, one well known member who owns about 5,000 Harleys said that his Road Glide's air filter was full of oil when he took it off to clean it.

On a twin cam the solution to that problem was to run the oil level at less than full, not sure if it will be the same for the M8.

It will probably "find its level" . Don't add oil unless it goes below the "add" mark. Keep an eye on it but, it should be fine.

The M8 does not vent into the air box. It vents into the transmission. New motor so new thoughts needed........

You're wrong about that.

The M8 does reroute to the airbox. Nothing really changes with Harleys. Stick around a while and you'll see.

Next thing you know a guy is gonna come in here and tell me HD has never had a single cam engine before

Thanks for the info. I will check condition of air box this weekend.
Having a great time with this bike, love the new engine and the handling on the highways!

Know what you think but the new engine does not vent to the air cleaner but to the transmission. Oh well everyone will learn about the new engine over time I guess

Nope, the first thing I did to my bike before it had fifty miles on it was reroute to the ground.
