Has anyone had thier clutch and brake master cylinders chrome platted
so I have the switch covers in chrome, looked at the painted black master cylinders and thought hell no, that does not work. So I went on the Harley web site and found the chromed master cylinder and clutch with cylinder online for around 700 bucks.
As I was about to buy it, I thought wait a second, I have a very good chrome plating company not too far from me. 120 to 130 bucks to have the stock assemblies chromed (2 of them). That was a no brainer to me, but I wanted to check and see if anyone has done this and were there any issues.

Chrome is quite the process, I would be scared to death to have mine done, the possibilities of having the bores messed up gives me the creeps. Plus chrome shops take their sweet time getting stuff done, ours does industrial work that comes first. and they pile up the custom stuff and use a batch of fresh chems so the chrome comes out nice.

I have been using these guys for almost 10 years now. They do excellent work and come highly recommended. My only issue is that they are the opposite way that I go to work. I don't think I can even make there on lunch break. So its going to be one of those late lunch days to get it there for me.

Just realized what you were asking... No, that is Harley chrome, not spray on. I did everything except the cylinders. So I did the cylinder cover, switches and switch plate, and the back cover behind the cylinders. So the cylinder itself is still black. But that pretty much gets lost in the chrome surrounding it.
