My Answer to the HD A/C dilemma. everything that is currently available is, from what we know, restrictive and holding the M8 back. I know with my worked up 110, Jamie shared the Ventilator was holding it back by 3 HP and 3 TQ, well the new M8 Ventilator is even worse. Reduced filter element height and its tapered inward, less filter surface area. Well I found that the old K&N element fits the back plate and using a Non M8 Ventilator cover and removing the top and bottom tabs, greatly increases the exposed filter area... Viola.... more air flow

Can you post the Part Number for the old K&N element and the non M8 Ventilator cover. I have the same scoot (different color) and want to try out the same configuration. Thanks.

We actually put our M8 Air Cleaners into production over the past weekend and they will be released in the coming weeks... Should be available for the spring season.
These will be variations of our popular round style 587 and 606 series as well as the forward facing 636V.
Additionally, we will be posting the dyno results in a few days so stay tuned for that! They are very impressive.
As always, I will be running shipping specials for forum members on the M8 Air cleaners as well as other items.

The standard filter supplied with all of the A/Cs mentioned will come with the Oiled Gauze Filter... The 587 can be upgraded to the Synthetic shown HERE

Damit! Figures I would see this post after I bought this lot yesterday.
The S&S unit I had on order came in from J & P was mismarked. It was for a 103. Would not fit. I have a V&H Naked on order with Fuel Moto. Well back order.
Just saw the arlen ness big sucker stg.1 air cleaner kit for the 2017 touring bikes that uses stock cover on 2 websites.

I am using the M8 Ventilator Backing Plate... K&N Filter model number HD-0910 & COVER AIR CLEANER, BLACK - 30074-09 with the upper and lower return flanges removed..
The cover plate and filter you mention has different holes for bolting up to the m8 ventilator backing plate. Did you drill new holes in filter and cover to match
