Heated grips on 17 street glide cvo
#11
That seems kind of steep to me as well. I just purchased a set of the Airflow Heated Grips for my wife's 2017 SGS and they cost me about $353.00 for the two of them and free labor for the install. Not sure why there would be such a difference for the heated grips off of a CVO Limited.

Heated grips have been standard on the CVO Ultra's and Limiteds. Not on the CVO Kings and X models like the CVO Road Glide and CVO Street glide.
Your dealer is full of it. I know 17 CVO street glides with heated grips internally wired on stock bars.
Mine are internally wired on Yaffe Monkey bars which are much harder than stock bars.
I asked my dealer about this. They said for the stock handle bars on the CVO Street Glide it would be too tight a fit to have them run internally thru the bars due to all other wiring being run internal on the bars. They said if I wanted heated grips they would need to be wired external or I would need bigger diameter bars. Not sure what the other CVO models have for bars or if all the wiring is internal or not.
Mine are internally wired on Yaffe Monkey bars which are much harder than stock bars.

Ya, there is a story behind it. I think it came down to the fact that the MoCo gave them a credit to do the install for free and gave them minimum time to do it so they were likely worried that it would take longer and they would have to eat the difference out of their own resources if it took longer. No real big deal, I got $500.00 in free P&A instead of heated grips and the install. Again long story behind it but the MoCo came thru for me.
