A call was made to HD Tech to find out if the 498 cam will indeed work in the Stage IV .. The response was absolutely not (they mentioned that they got several calls on this today), the Parameters on the pro/smart tune is directly specific and will not allow enough to tune for EPA compliance.

With this info I see no point in doing the Stage IV being the Torque is so far to the right..

If your going to want to keep warranty then you would need to use the 515 cam. The side thing is after warranty you would be able to swap the camshaft and save $$$ since you would already have the rest of the parts needed. A simple cam swap will move that curve right over to the left side if you wanted.

Yeah, I like that thinking, but struggle cause then tuner is needed right?

The struggle can be a bitch. You need to do what you feel comfortable with but once you go outside warranty levels you go out, so at that point the tuner doesn't much matter anymore.

I do want to feel comfortable.. us M8 dudes are just chomping to see what this engine will do inside the warranty.. this is the struggle!

I'm saying without being way outside ignorant.. If I did the Stage IV .. I would not be able to put a torque cam in without a proper tune?? w the wideband/smart tune putting a Torque cam in the Smart tune will not adjust is how I understand it.

Ordered a stage 4 kit the other day.Waiting to see results from other cams on this kit to see what works best with a 2 into 1 d@d pipe and power vision. Probably have a 515 cam for sale from this kit.Not worried about engine warranty just need to smoke my old tire shredder kit that I sold to a riding buddy.
