My first Harley is a 2017 Street Glide Special...what do I need t know?

So after riding 18 Jap bikes since 1984 I got a 2017 Street Glide. I have ridden well over 100k on two wheels. As someone transitioning what do I need to know about riding, maintenance and anything else.
I know this is a BROAD question so please keep in mind I am an experience rider...I just need to be "Harleyfied".
Thanks in advance.
Same boat here a few months back.. Get used to NOT having to shift often ( even when passing), the clutch takes some getting used to,, as does putting the bike on the side stand.. For me, I am having to get used to trusting the locking sidestand. I'm always feeling like the bikes gong to roll forward and on its side..other than that a great ride! Oh and the manual says dial the shocks up to max preload for two up riding ( at least my Road King manual does) and no, you dont need to.I intalled a Clearview shield and very satisifed.

Nice choice James and welcome! I made the mistake of test riding the new M8 StreetGlide Special and made the deal to trade my 103 RoadKing in! I'll be taking home a Velocity Red SGS this Wednesday.
Like you've heard, ride it for 1000 miles before you start making too many changes. They make good solid bikes these days - just change the oil on time (all 3 holes) keep your tire pressure right and enjoy the ride! She's a beauty!
Get yourself a Service Manual for sure and maybe a J&S Jack to make washing and servicing a little easier on your back and your good to go! Have fun

Coming from a Japanese bike, remember this hog is heavy. Balances well and slow speed turns are a breeze. Just don't let her dip too low while duck walking her, she will put you in the dirt quick. May look into bag guards, could save you some serious scuffed up bags.
I think she will be the best ride you have ever had, lots of torque and smooth distance bike once you get th and management adjusted for you.

Congrats on the new ride, the 3 oil holes is probable one of the biggest difference's from metric bikes , and the air cooled motor , personally I change the motor oil every 3-3500 miles simply because it takes alot of heat stress , arguably not necessary , I have just always lived by oil is cheap motors aren't.
The M8's are vary smooth even compared to latest Twin cams , enjoy the ride.
