The infamous Harley FL "Death Wobble" was in 2008 and earlier bikes, caused by soft bushings and a flexible swingarm. I had it in my 2004 Road King, and it would manifest itself in a high-speed, sweeping turn (i.e. 80 mph in a curve and hard on it). It was quite disconcerting when it happened and would startle inexperienced riders. At the time, there were all sorts of aftermarket brackets that would tie in the engine to the swingarm to add rigidity to the bike. Harley fixed it with the 2009 frames, which is one reason if you ever want to pick up a used FL series, stay with that year or newer.

The 2017 bikes track very nicely, I'm impressed with how my Road Glide handles compared to my older Harleys.

2009 was a game changer..still can't believe how well my 09 Electra Glide could carve up the twisty river highways...much better than my 2017 RK..that was a helluva nice bike and the 96 with Stage 1 pushed it just fine two up..I paid $18000 brand new for it, last of the 09's and Black..plus even back then I was already a multi time repeat customer from our dealership so got the deal..that was about 6 bikes ago..LOL..have always gotten great deals from them

The same frame as 09 with a minor exception the four cast lugs are different to accept the different mounting points of the M8. So you can say it is different but not really.

Since wobble is caused by many factors it is still possible. Bad wheel bearings, low tire pressure, overloading, unbalanced loading and of course not properly adjusted neck bearings.

Any motorcycle ever made can wobble and or weave at some point.

it turned better....now this is based on recollection of years past, and I must admit when I was younger I rode more aggressive so there's that..but that bike handled sharp without question and the ergonomics for my 6'3" frame felt confidence inspiring..suppose you could put different sized people on both of them and the results and opinions may vary..but Electra Glides are no slouch and can be whipped around and have surprising agility and nimble feeling for such heavy bikes..watch this motorcycle cop training video..you ain't going to outrun those guys

Wobble does exist.....I had it on my 15 vrod...and I have it on my 17 ultra. ...pretty annoying with how much I paid for these bikes. ...had them both back to the dealer several times and yet still present, not quite as bad but still exists. I've been riding for over 40 years and have owned every single manufactures bikes. The only wobble I've ever had is with my Harleys.

the highlighted portion of this comment was quoted for truth.
While there are many reasons why one might experience a high speed wobble at some time. Incorrect torque on the steering head, ie; too loose... Will cause a wobble.
Add incorrect tire pressure? And now you're on your way to a bad ending.
That said, these are routine maintenance items that should be inspected often.
Not much can be done about a wobble that was the result of design and bad manufacturing.

Redrocket if you have wobble then they need to check your Neck bearings tq. My friend has a new 2017 CVO Limited and his went into a wobble the other day running 90 mph. It scared the **** out of him. He got on the phone with HD and they actually put him with a engineer, he's bought several CVO's the past few years, anyway the guy told him 2 things could cause the wobble, tire having a broke belt or the front neck bearings not properly tq'd. He said some of the bearing race's may not have been seated correctly so the tq on that bearing will be incorrect. My friend took his bike to the HD dealer and they spoke to the engineer and he told them what to check. They re-tq'd his neck bearings to the high side of the tq specs and all is well.

And 3 companies had a fix before the bike hit the show room. What wobble. Don't let your bike read the internet and the problem will be gone.

My bike has no wobble at all. But the neck bearings are just a tad loose. When I took it in for the 1k mile service and a in depth look into the heads rattling like a worn out twin cam. I asked the service manager to check the head bearings. He asked if it wobbled. I told him no. But on many small sharp bumps like a bridge expansion joint or quick change in pavement/road surface height there is a jolt in the bars. Head Shock, was like he had never felt or heard of such a thing.
