150 miles and I broke my M8
#11
Jclax, Just trying to mix up the break- in RPM's.
As for the problem, the delphi connector at the throttle body was not pushed home and wiggled out just enough to cause the bike to go in limp mode. I think this sensor has to mirror the 5volts at the throttle, if there is a difference then the bike shuts down.
Some one else can probably explain this.
Bottom line- easy fix, got my 1"front lowering springs in and the front chromed out.
Rode it home just now and it feels great.

That's right, taking a 30 mile trip to the deal to have the front end chromed out but I only made it 1/2 way there.
I was on a divided road with 55 mph speed limit and was varying the RPM's.
Got down to 50 in 5th ( no lugging involved)and downshifted to 4th and hit the throttle and anticipated the torque. Much to my surprise there was none, just the opposite.
It felt like the engine stalled, but it did not. The engine light came on and the
the bike went into limp mode, hazards came on. I felt like I was riding a 900 lb vespa with no *****. Weird feeling as I limped along the side of the road. With a small hill ahead of me I decided the limp mode would not be enough to get me to the other side.
It was 45mins till the dealer closed but they scrambled and got a trailer out to me. I'll report back when they look at the bike in the AM.

when I'm out by myself or with a buddy who likes to ride the same, have no problem winding them out..adrenaline junky in me..3rd gear gets you to 80 easily at ~5K rpm's..4th will carry you into a careless or reckless driving ticket
