Default Primary oil is silver

I changed the fluids in my 2017 EG Limited today. I have 2800 miles, HD did the 1K service with Syn3 in all 3 holes. The engine oil looked good, trans oil looked new, but the primary was silver, like full of fine metal. I don't know if this is normal for the chain break in or not. I was shocked at how the oil looked after just 1800 miles. Any thoughts?

Keep a sample and take it to your dealer. Warranty will cover it if it's a problem.

The silver color might be from the clutch disks.

I don't suppose you have pics? Might be helpful in diagnosing online, but it's a better idea to get it to a dealer.

Some sliver in fluid is normal and more so through break in. How much is in the fluid is subjective and should be looked at be an experienced tech with the m8. I don't think there is one yet. Have dealer look at it and call Harley to inquire if normal or in excess.

I don't have pics as I drained all 3 at the same time, I did look at each fluid as I pulled each plug. I will call my dealer tomorrow and will check the fluid every 1000 miles and see if it continues. I am thinking clutch material as I only have 2800 miles.

I talked to the dealer today and he said it is the clutch. I will keep my eye on it over the next few months and if it does not clear up, I will let the dealer look at it.
