Default S&S Grand Nationals review

I just changed out my Street Cannons for the S&S Mufflers. These came to me by way of Fuel Moto , saying they had good results with them. There are plenty of sound clips and reviews on the web, But I was really surprised by how much they pumped up the volume.

They are EPA compliant, but what is interesting is their db killer, There is no mention of it in their instructions for removal, but S&S made it so easy to remove thus getting around the EPA db limits, as if their intention all along.

Coming in at 4" they are not your ultra Deep Mellow fart in a can so many folks are after today. Instead they offer up a nice aggressive sound that reminds me more of my older bikes.

Another plus for them is they come with new clamps and hanger bolts. USA made and very good quality.

It's my understanding the MK45's come with the same removable baffle. I heard the 4-1/2's on a decatted head pipe and they really come alive

Fuel Moto said exactly the same to me - my 2015 RGS had their e-series pipes and if they were available I’d have had them again. Was looking for quiet unobtrusive pipes and FM said they were getting good results and were a good option for a touring bike.

I’ll find out soon along with the Jackpot m8 headpipe

This was my first (only so far) mod when I bought my RKS. I removed the DB killers before installing and like the sound and quality. I am planning on a decatted headpipe this spring, which should help a little more with the sound. I had CFRs on my previous bike which killed low-end torque and I promised myself that I would not repeat that mistake.

I am curious to see what kind of power I get once I install CR-460 cams and the decatted pipe.

This is correct. Dealer installed my mk45's and had the baffles out when I picked it up. Can't wait to get rid of that stupid cat and do a good cam upgrade!

The actual baffle is 2.25", here is a pic of both the baffle on the bike and the removed db killer that attaches to the end of the baffle.

The baffles are not wrapped, and the db killer chokes the outlet down to 1.5

Those things do sound really good with the "DB Reducer" out.
