10 years with progressive and a 2002 Suzuki Volusia 800 paid on average 32 per month, with the new to me 2010 FLHTCU progressive wanted 96 per month, no wrecks or tickets ever! Jumped over to Dairyland for only 41 per month.
I know that my info is strayed from your question but trying to get past the newbie 5 post requirement!

Hmmmmm, my house and cars are through Farm Bureau and they told me they didn't write motorcycles. I spend over two grand a year with them. They gave me a quote through Progressive that I thought was a little on the high side. I wonder if it's just a state by state thing or if they wrote you through another company?

I just paid mine in full for next year, $274 and I have Progressive through USAA. I don't understand how people's insurance can be so high when I have never paid over $400 a year and bought my first new Harley at 22.

Where do you live? They told me when I paid my $274/yr insurance with almost identical coverage to what you have that mine was way cheaper because I live in North Dakota and it's snowing 5 months of the year. Could be simply because of where you live!

You'll never make any sense out of insurance rates, way too many variables and top secret rate calculations. Bottom line is that if you meet the profile that the company wants, you'll get better rates than those who are less desirable to the company for whatever reason.
I had very good rates from Progressive for my ricer, but they were very high for the Limited, no claims or tickets. So I went with Geico, same coverage couple hundred a year cheaper. None of it makes much sense, just get quotes till you can't stand it any more then pick your company.

That is crazy. It may be a state thing, the insurance is wrote through Farm Bureau. This is the third bike I have had written with this company. Always seems to be the least expensive.
